How to get  the most out of your various efforts that support your online business?

You got to squeeze it baby!

This sounds pretty much like – What’s the big deal? What’s new about this? Who cares?

Let me tell you this. It is not new, it isn’t a big deal and the one who should care is YOU.

Do you know that the majority of internet marketers do not squeeze every little bit of benefit out of their online business? Do you know that not even 30% of all internet marketers are using the power of mailing lists? Do you know that you are leaving money on the table day in day out? Do you know that your visitors don’t mind being “squeezed” by you?

Well, now you know and starting right this second you should care.

I know why most online marketers are lacking an effective squeeze strategy. They don’t know where to get good squeeze pages from and they don’t know the power of squeeze pages. Let me share with you a little secret about my internet business…

I mainly cater for German speaking internet users. And the reason for this is very simple – not much competition. The English market is flooded with offers service of every color. The English market is fought over day in day out and therefore I found myself a little non-English speaking “niche” :-) More on how to claim a whole country or a language as a niche later on… in another post.

Let‘s talk about squeeze pages, my other little success secret.

Okay, as mentioned I am marketing mainly in a different language than English. A couple of the following sites I use as an example are not in English. But the language is not really the major point here. Internet Marketing works around the world in the same way. To run successfully  your very own  internet business you got to have a list – a mailing list.

Building up a mailing list is not that hard at all, really. Just ask your visitors to sign up with you (regular newsletter, free gift, what have you…) and to offer them the opportunity to do so practically everywhere on your sites. Produce decent content, and be yourself and original and in time you will see that your mailing lists are building up.

Look, I show you a few sample – actually real life – sites that I use to target German speaking internet users. The process is always the same:

  1. Signup in order to get a discount (e.i. for an eBook) and be able to reach the salespage only following the signup – Sample Signup Discount.
  2. Signup in to the buyers list following the purchase of the eBook (cant show here its on the download pages).
  3. Signup for additional eBook Marketing tips and a short course about eBook Marketing – Sample Signup Marketing.
  4. Signup for the affiliate program in order to access the affiliate tools and links (can’t show its customers only).

As you can see, during the sales process for my ebook, one and the same user is asked to signup for up to 4 times in order to access various things related to my offer. And let me tell you… they do.

Ask and offer something (discount, free gift etc.) in return…

and you will receive!

Here is another site – just a nice splash page with a music video. The message is clear – signup for more.

And here is another sample (this time in english) that I used recently at a list building event. I gave away one of my software in return for a signup. (Please note, that the newsletter here and the followup through the “giveaway” site are two different worlds! The newsletter via the blog is more “soft” and the other one more “pushy”.)

Let me be perfectly honest with you! I love what I do and I can probably  teach you a lot in regards to how a successful internet business is mapped out and managed. However, for each specialized subject there is an expert a special teacher.  I am not a “know-all” (like so many others you came across) and I rather like to pass you on to the experts and specialist. Some may say “Uhuh, this is stupid… keep milking the guy and don’t let him go…”. I call it plain and simple – being honest.
